You’d be left wondering if Arsenal are truly in the market to sign players given the number of players linked to the club.
According to reports making the rounds, Arsenal have tabled a bid of 16million Euros to Juventus for their midfielfer Mario Lemina.
The former Marseille midfielder drew attention of several clubs with his display in the French League but was signed on loan by Juventus in the summer of last year. Arsenal were reportedly in the tussle for him with Liverpool, Southampton and Westham.
However, Juventus signed the player on a permanent deal at the end of last season but Arsenal are understood to be keenly interesteed in the Gabonese.
A defensive midfielder, it would seem an odd move from the club who have already purchased Mohamed Elneny and Granit Xhaka in the last two windows, after refusing to reinfoce that position for years.
Nonetheles, the 22-year-old can play also as a creative midfielder and a right back, adding depth to all the positions of Arsenal’s squad.
There is no telling if Arsenal are truly interested in the player but Wenger’s priority should be adding to the defence and attack.
He cost £8.08m.
