Liverpool could be without 3 first team players for their trip to Arsenal on Sunday in their opening game of the Premier League.
The Liverpool Echo are reporting that Marko Grujic, James Milner and Daniel Sturridge are all struggling to prove their fitness ahead of the trip to London.
Sturridge only played 14 Premier League games last season, and has only featured for the Reds in 69 league games for the Reds across 4 seasons. However, he did score 8 goals in that brief season last year, and added more in the UEFA Europa League, including a delightful opener in their 3-1 defeat to Sevilla in the final.
But the English forward is struggling with a hip injury that meant he missed their final pre-season games last weekend, which lead to injuries for his teammates. James Milner hobbled off in the first half of the Reds’ game against Barcelona at Wembley with a heel injury, and may now not be available to stay at left-back as he did against the La Liga champions.
Grujic, who scored the final goal in that 4-0 win in the capital, then picked up an ankle injury the next day in the 4-0 loss to Mainz.
