Petr Cech and Hector Bellerin both had messages for Gabriel Paulista on Sunday night..
Both Petr Cech and Hector Bellerin have taken to social media to wish Gabriel Paulista a speedy recovery after the defender was carried off on a stretcher during Arsenal’s 3-2 pre-season win over Manchester City on Sunday night.
The Brazilian injured his ankle and looked to be in serious pain as he was substituted late on during the clash.
Arsenal will now wait to assess the seriousness of the injury in the lead-up to next Sunday’s Premier League opener against Liverpool at Emirates Stadium.
The injury setback put a dampener on what was an otherwise encouraging end to pre-season for Arsene Wenger’s men, as the Gunners came from behind to claim victory over Pep Guardiola’s men.
Defender Bellerin was first to take to Twitter after the game with the following message for his team-mate:
Great result for our confidence ahead of next week. Get well soon@GPaulista5, we all hope it's not too serious pic.twitter.com/EbPsBCCHhS
And goalkeeper Cech soon followed suit:
Fingers crossed for @gpaulista5 . Hope the injury won't keep him out for long ... Boa sorte Gabi
Arsenal finished second in the Premier League last season, 10 points behind surprise champions Leicester City in the table.
