Arsenal’s interest in Riyad Mahrez has raised some dust in recent days and it is safe to say that Arsene Wenger is keen on signing the Algerian international.
The fans are eager to see the PFA Player’s Player of the year at the Emirates stadium and have urged the manager to do the needful.
However, Leicester City remain obstinate, as they are unwilling to let go of their star player. After the 4-2 loss at the hands of Barcelona, Claudio Ranieri was quoted as saying.
‘The club is working very well, I think the players want to stay with us, to try to improve our last season.
‘We know it is very difficult but we are ambitious. It is important they sign, stay with us, and have experience of Champions League.
‘I think Riyad stays with us because he wants to continue with us to make experience, the only other thing is speculation. I think Riyad is happy, he enjoys every training session.’
Now, Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha seem to have dealt the final nail to the coffin, as he has announced on social media that the player is not leaving.
Talk is cheap and I believe they will let go of the player if the right offer is tabled but whether Wenger would meet the valuation of the current market remains to be seen.
