According to reports, Arsenal have made official contacts with star striker’s camp about the possibility of signing the striker.
After the disappointment in snapping up Leicester striker Jamie Vardy, Wenger continues his hunt for a new striker and has picked interest in two main targets Alvaro Morata and Alexander Lacazzete.
However, it seems the 66-year-old manager has limited his interest only to the Real Madrid youngster who has just returned from Juventus to the Spanish club for £23m and he is expected to cost the Gunners £58m.
According to Spanish outlet AS, Arsenal are one among the various clubs to have approach Real Madrid and are ready to meet their £58m asking price for the Spaniard.
The report says that Arsenal are ready to offer the Spaniard 9m euros-a-year salary as against the 4m euros he is set to receive at Real Madrid
Meanwhile, Arsenal who, reportedly welcomed the idea of selling striker Olivier Giroud initially after receiving series of enquiries for the striker, has decided against such thoughts and instead, wants to add new striker to partner him.
Morata is a versatile player who can play as a centre forward as well as operate from the wings.
