Costa Rican Star Nearing the Exit Door For Arsenal

While we await the signing of the so-desired attacker and defender at Arsenal, we would be reduced by a number in attack if reports making the rounds are anything to go by.

We reported that earlier this week that Joel Campbell could switch on a loan move to Sporting Lisbon, however, a deal is now in place for the player to join the Portuguese side until the end of the season.

On 19 August 2011, Arsenal confirmed that they had signed Campbell, but it was revealed eight days later that he had failed to obtain a work permit to enable him to play in England. Campbell finally received that permit in July 2013.
The Costa Rican rose to prominence at the Emirates last season – he scored four goals in 30 appearances but is still unfavored by Wenger. His best bet at regular football is a move away from the Emirates.
According to O Jogo, Arsenal now have an agreement in place for the youngster to move.
The report says the attacker will undergo a medical and sign the deal ‘in the coming hours’.

It means Campbell will link up with international team-mate Bryan Ruiz at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.
