Wenger Breaks The ICE ON His Transfer Plans Before Liverpool Clash

Arsene Wenger has revealed why there has been limited activities at the Emirates during the transfer window. The Gunners’ boss has been criticized over his inability to sign marquee players in the transfer market but he insists it is the lack of quality players that is the issue.
The French man has made just one major signing this summer and with the season beginning in a fortnight, the fans are already growing impatient. Wenger has now moved to calm fears and has revealed the club doesn’t have a problem spending big in the transfer market but finding the right players is the problem.

Wenger is expected to sign at least two new players before the end of the transfer window and has assured fans he is working actively to strengthen the squad but insists he would not panic buy.
“It’s not the prices, it’s the players,” Wenger said.

“At the moment I’m focused on the players we have. Today we didn’t have Ramsey, Xhaka, Alexis – he will play on Sunday.
“We still have Ozil at home, and Giroud and Koscielny too. We also have young players who came on and did well.
“We do not have to panic but we are on alert in the transfer market so that we can make the right move when the opportunity comes up.”
He added: “The money is never a problem if you have to pay what is requested.

“The price of a player is down to four ingredients. One is the talent, two his age, three is how much you expect him to improve your team, and four his resale value.
“If he ticks all four boxes then the price is not that important.
“You have to find the player.”
The Gunners begin their campaign against Liverpool on August 14th at the Emirates and Wenger would be hoping his side begins the season by claiming three points from its rival.
