Latest Update On Alexandre Lacazette Transfer to Arsenal

French club Olympic Lyon have rejected Arsenal’s bid for Alexandre Lacazette.
Arsene Wenger is keen on signing a striker this summer and the French attacker is believed to be top of his wishlist

According to Le Progress via Inside Football, Arsenal tabled a €48m bid for Lacazette which was rejected by the French club.

The club have now addressed those rumours and released an official statement denying they received such bid for the striker. However, the club revealed the Gunners have tabled a €35m bid which they turned down.
“Olympique Lyonnais categorically deny having received an offer of €48m from Arsenal for the transfer of Alexandre Lacazette as confirmed by Le Progres in its morning edition.

“The club regret once again that Le Progres have not made the effort to contact them before publishing this false information which caused confusion on the day when the group, which is listed on the stock market, publishes its turnover of €218.1m, which is up by 111% in comparison to 2014/15.
“The reality is that Arsenal FC have drawn up an offer of €35m which Olympique Lyonnais have not followed up for one single reason: OL will keep Alexandre Lacazette, who is irreplaceable and one of the main leaders in Bruno Genesio’s group.”

Arsenal have already been knocked back in its approach for Jamie Vardy and Gonzalo Higuain, Lacazette has now joined the list. However, the French tactician is not expected to give up on signing a striker and we wouldn’t be surprised if the club returns with an irrestible offer for Lacazette.
